Thank you to all the SJA Athletic Booster Club members who helped to make this year's Spring Fest fun-filled and family-friendly.

While academics is important at Saint Joseph Academy (SJA), there is still a whole lot more. “We like to celebrate and have fun together,” SJA President, Michael Motyl said. On Sunday, April 30, the Athletic Boosters club hosted the third annual Spring Fest. New activities were added this year for friends and family to enjoy.

SJA Director of Alumni Affairs, Ms. Marisa Campirano, said that the Spring Fest is a volunteer-driven event that provides clubs with opportunities to be involved and is open to anyone who might want to participate. At 2 p.m., a three-on-three basketball tournament was held in the Middle Division Gym where teams from all over the Rio Grande Valley came, some from as far away as Edinburg. Food included cheeseburgers, frito pies, nachos, and cupcakes. This year’s games included something for everyone. New activities were added such as laser tag, bungee trampoline, velcro balls and a gaming trailer. Spring Fest featured fun and games for all ages.

Dunking booth participant, SJA chemistry teacher, Mr. Jesus Abrego, said it was his first time participating at Spring Fest. He had no idea what to expect but he knew there would be a lot of activities and familiar faces. Mr. Motyl, said this year’s Spring Fest grew, “I think it builds a close community here at St. Joe and that is what we’re most proud of. We consider ourselves a family.”
