Announcing Our New Champagnat Learning Center Director, Mrs. Ida Saenz

July 18, 2017, 8:29 am

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Saenz to the SJA Family.

All of the SJA family said a very fond farewell to Sara Sanchez in May as she retired from her position as Director of the Champagnat Learning Center.  Now, after an extensive search to fill those very important shoes, we are very happy to welcome Mrs. Ida C. Saenz as the new Learning Center Director.

Mrs. Saenz is a graduate of Texas A&I University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with Bilingual/ESL and Special Education (PK-12) Certifications.   She later earned a Masters of Supervision from Stephen F. Austin University with certifications in Supervision and Mid-Management Administration.   Mrs. Saenz has a very extensive educational background with 32 years of experience with Brownsville Independent School District in multiple schools as a teacher in special education, assistant principal and special education supervisor.  She moved into the collegiate level working for 5 years as an Adjunct Professor, with The University of Texas Brownsville and as a Pupil Services and Field Supervisor with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley before retiring in 2015.

We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Saenz come to Saint Joseph Academy this year as our new Learning Center Director.  Her extensive experience with students from elementary ages through college level learning will be a valuable asset to prepare our students for transition through middle school, high school and ready for successful college learning.
