Last Friday, the students of Saint Joseph Academy woke up to a rare snow shower. The last time it snowed in the Rio Grande Valley was 2004.
Mr. Motyl said how happy the students looked in the courtyard that morning before our Mass celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Students, with smiles on their faces, watched the snow fall. For some, this was a new experience. Freshman Juliana Trevino said, “I liked the snow because I had never seen it.” The open campus provided an opportunity for the students to enjoy the snow in between classes, at least for a few hours.
Bishop Daniel Flores reminded us in his homily at Mass to appreciate the beautiful things in life. Although the snow ended, the memories will remain.
