Book Clubs
"There are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books."
The Saint Joseph Academy Book Clubs were created to foster a love of reading, encourage discussion on a wide variety of topics, and help prepare students for the academic rigors of college courses. There are separate clubs for Middle School, High School, and Faculty in order to best serve the age span and interests of the members. Meetings are held approximately once a month during lunch period in the library. Students are encouraged to suggest books and vote for their favorite selection. Members are expected to read the book on their own time and come to the meeting prepared to discuss. Members of the book clubs must be in good disciplinary standing and follow the school attendance policy (no excessive absences). Officers are elected at the beginning of each year for the High School club.
High School Book Club: This club meets as needed on Fridays during lunch in the Library. I will be meeting with the officers this week to set our next meeting date. All students in grades 9-12 are welcome.
Club Officers: President - Cynthia Gonzalez (senior) Vice President - Mia Lavin (junior) Secretary - Gretta Gonzalez (junior)
Faculty Book Club meets every 4-6 weeks via Zoom. All teachers and staff are welcome.
